Role Description
We are seeking a Staff Scientist to support our drug discovery program. The role will be for
12 months
in the first instance.
The role is full time on-site at Awen Oncology, based in Gaerwen, Anglesey.
Key Responsibilities
* Run mammalian cell cultures, and undertake viability and target engagement assays
* Perform protein analysis, including Western blotting and associated techniques
* Design and execute mode of action studies to characterise novel compounds, as required
* Analyse and interpret experimental data, clearly communicating findings to inform scientific direction
* Maintain strong SOP compliance, QC standards, and data integrity
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* A Ph.D. (or B.Sc. with relevant experience) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, or related field
* Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and appropriate methodologies
* Experience with tissue culture, protein analysis and/or molecular biology
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
* An ability to maintain high standards in quality control, attention to detail, and documentation proficiency
* Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to laboratory protocols
* Ability to manage time effectively and work towards project deadlines
