The opportunity
In this team, you will get wide-ranging experience in all the core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell and buy side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews and refinancings.
As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members not only get good UK tax technical experience but also get a commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context. As a large part of ITTS work is cross-border, you will also have an early introduction to international structuring techniques and overseas tax regimes.
We are currently looking to expand our Corporate M&A Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax Managers and Senior Managers.
Your key responsibilities
You will contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services to the client, building and maintaining tax relationships with clients to provide high levels of client service. You’ll contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and ensure technical excellence and a practical/business focus approach.
1. Build and maintain relationships with clients, winning work proactively and contributing to winning new clients
2. High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transaction tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focused approach taken
3. Overall responsibility of quality of client service
4. Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice
5. Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from
6. Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
7. Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training transaction tax professionals
8. Significant involvement in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and through managing junior staff development and assignments
Skills and attributes for success
9. Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
10. Negotiation skills
11. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work to new and existing clients
12. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
13. Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
14. Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day management of delivery team
15. Change orientated with flexible approach
16. Strong knowledge and experience within transaction/M&A tax
To qualify for the role you must have
17. ACA/ATT/CTA or international equivalent / Law qualification
18. Degree qualified
19. Experience in transaction tax
20. Strong transaction tax technical skills
