Job Opportunity: Sous Chef at Uppingham School
Aramark UK is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Sous Chef to oversee all aspects of in-house food service at an independent school located in Uppingham, Rutland, LE15 9QE.
Uppingham School features multiple locations within the town, including 15 boarding houses and 2 hub kitchens. The role will be based in the hub kitchen, supporting the culinary team.

* Full-time position, 45 hours/week, working 3-4 days over 7, including some weekends, within a 14-day cycle.

A Day in the Life of a Sous Chef
* Managing shifts and guiding your team in the absence of the Head Chef, preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, requiring organization and resilience under pressure.
* Supporting team organization, task allocation, and ensuring efficient daily operations.
* Preparing food according to recipes, with full knowledge of menu items and allergen information.
* Managing food production levels to minimize waste, placing orders, recording wastage, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage following FIFO principles.
* Performing regular cleaning and ensuring staff training and compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills
* Resided in the UK for the past 3 years with the right to work.
* Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
* Relevant culinary qualification or at least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP.
* A full UK driving license is preferred due to the location.
