In this key position, you will drive the development of global racing categories, shape championship architectures, and ensure the highest level of governance in sporting regulations. Acting as the Deputy to the Senior Circuit Sport Director, you will represent the Federation at the highest level, fostering relationships with promoters, ASNs, and industry stakeholders to support the FIA's long-term vision. You will report directly to the Senior Circuit Sport Director.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
STRATEGY & CHAMPIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT
* Lead the end-to-end strategic development of FIA championships and cups within the Racing and Historic perimeter (GT, Touring Car, Truck Racing, Historic), ensuring a coherent global sporting pyramid .
* Design and validate long-term development plans, championship architectures, and business models to identify new strategic opportunities across regions.
* Drive the launch processes for new competitions, including tender documentation, ASN engagement, and promoter contract preparation .
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT & GOVERNANCE
* Oversee the drafting and continuous evolution of sporting regulations in alignment with World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) decisions, ensuring regulatory integrity across disciplines .
* Manage and guide a team of managers and coordinators, ensuring operational excellence and quality assurance at the championship and event level .
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Safety, and Legal departments to ensure unified enforcement of regulations and standards .
* Monitor promoter performance and oversee the financial execution of the Racing & Historic Division budget .
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & DEPUTY ROLE
* Act as Deputy to the Senior Circuit Sport Director, representing the Director internally and externally when required and contributing to the department's organizational management .
* Prepare proposals for the FIA Commissions (including the Drivers Commission) and the WMSC, working closely with Commission Presidents .
* Maintain strong diplomatic relationships with external stakeholders, including manufacturers, teams, promoters, and National Sporting Authorities (ASNs).
PROFILE:
* University degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field .
* Significant experience (minimum 10 years) in the motorsport industry, having attained a position such as Sporting Manager, Team Principal, or Sporting Director .
* Proven experience in high-level championships (WEC, Single Seater, Formula E, GT) is essential; specific expertise in the portfolio disciplines is a plus but not mandatory if the level of sporting management experience is high .
* Strong political acumen, diplomacy, and communication skills are required to navigate a complex, multi-cultural international environment .
* Demonstrated ability to manage and lead experienced teams .
* Solid understanding of sporting regulations and the FIA regulatory environment is a distinct advantage .
* Fluent English (written and spoken) is required. French or other languages are a plus .
This position is based at the FIA offices in Geneva and requires international travel (approx. 12-20 trips per year) .
