We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Basildon, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher passionate about preparing upper Key Stage 2 pupils for their transition to secondary school, both academically and socially. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will create a stimulating learning environment, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and school leadership Contribute to school events, enrichment activities, and extra-curricular programmes Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and resources Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6 Be passionate, creative, and committed to high-quality teaching Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be able to differentiate learning for pupils of varying abilities Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Basildon, with excellent transport links and a supportive, diverse community.
