An organisation within the education sector is seeking a Temporary Finance Assistant to join their team on a six-month contract, working 25 hours per week. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
The role will be fully office-based, with flexibility around how the 25 hours are worked across the week.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Processing invoices accurately and maintaining financial records on the finance system
2. Supporting payment runs and purchase order management
3. Scanning, filing and maintaining financial documentation
4. Acting as a first point of contact for finance queries via phone and email
5. Liaising with internal stakeholders on budget-related queries
6. Supporting the wider finance function with general administrative tasks
The successful candidate will have:
7. Experience in a finance support role, such as an Accounts Assistant position
8. Familiarity with accounting systems and processes
9. Basic Excel skills
10. Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with non-finance stakeholders
11. The ability to work independently and take initiative
This is a fully on-site role where presence is key, offering the opportunity to play a visible and important part in the day-to-day running of the finance function.
