Overview
Production Operative – Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, G64 2PY. Base pay range: £31,500 (including shift allowance) plus guaranteed overtime and benefits. You will work a shift pattern 4 days on/4 off (Mon-Sun) 12 hours per shift, 05:30am to 05:30pm. We’re currently recruiting an experienced and reliable Production Operative to join our team in Bishopbriggs.
What’s the mission? You will work as part of our manufacturing team to carry out duties relating to the efficient manufacturing of high-quality products, using all operational techniques and creating the UK’s leading roof tiles. You will be required to use manual handling tools, including powered hand tools, machinery, and mechanical handling equipment. You will work in an environment where safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets are the norm. A flexible approach to working requirements is expected to ensure adequate cover to meet production demands, which may require tasks outside your production area. Colleagues may need to travel away from site for training or other requirements. A flexible approach to overtime is required as it is paid at time-and-a-third and readily available to those who want it. Since the Process Operator will work closely with production machinery, it is expected that the successful applicant will understand the fundamental workings of the plant. An aptitude for working with automatic production systems and man-machine interfaces is essential.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the manufacturing team to operate and support the production of high-quality products.
* Use manual handling tools, powered hand tools, machinery, and mechanical handling equipment.
* Maintain safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.
* Be flexible to cover production demands and undertake tasks outside the immediate area when required.
* Travel to other sites for training or requirements when needed.
* Support understanding of plant workings and interaction with automatic production systems.
Required skills and qualifications
* Experience operating in a small/medium manufacturing operation.
* FLT counterbalance licence preferred but not essential.
* Team player with attention to detail.
* Good level of English, oral and written.
* A forward-thinking individual continually looking at improving processes.
