As a M365 Consultant at Cocentric, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients deliver modern workplace solutions that drive employee engagement and improve collaboration. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will combine deep technical expertise with strong consultancy skills, advising clients on how to get the best out of Microsoft Viva Engage, Viva Connections, SharePoint Online, and Teams. You will act as the technical lead on delivery projects, translating business and engagement requirements into clear technical solutions, ensuring these are well-governed, scalable, and support long-term adoption. You will also work closely with our consultancy and sales teams, contributing technical expertise during pre-sales conversations, scoping workshops, and proposal development. Recent project work has included: High street retailer – delivering tenant readiness, governance planning, and rollout support for Viva Engage, working alongside our consultancy team to advise on adoption. Global Architects – working with our developers to deliver a range of SharePoint-based corporate portals including an Intranet and data interface tools. This is a UK-based hybrid position, with flexibility to work from either our London or Edinburgh office. WHAT YOU'LL DO Solution Design & Technical Delivery Act as the technical lead on Microsoft 365 delivery projects, particularly for Viva Engage, Viva Connections, and SharePoint intranets. Translate functional requirements into technical delivery plans, ensuring configurations meet governance, security, and adoption best practices. Configure and deploy solutions, including tenant readiness, permissions (least-privilege), branding, and governance frameworks. Support or oversee migration workstreams, working with partner organisations. Provide clear technical documentation and handovers to support teams post go-live. Product Development & Deployment Gathering and developing a client’s requirements into workable solutions for our front-end and back-end developers to build out within Microsoft ecosystems such as SharePoint and Power Platform. Collaborate with client IT SME’s to agree architecture and deployment of our solutions and support the end-to-end technical lifecycle of the project. Support wider solutions team in establishing requirements as user stories and creating test plans and facilitating pilot and UAT periods in client environments. Pre-Sales & Proposal Support Provide technical input during discovery sessions, scoping workshops, and client demos. Work with consultants and sales teams to shape technical elements of proposals, including approach, effort estimates, and risk considerations. Contribute to statement of work development and help identify opportunities for account growth through technical improvements. Adoption & Post Go-Live Support Collaborate with engagement consultants to ensure technical decisions support adoption and long-term user experience. Support hypercare phases, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring smooth transition to support teams. Advise clients on the Microsoft roadmap, identifying relevant updates and features to enhance their workplace experience. Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Communicate technical concepts in a clear and accessible way to non-technical audiences. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Core Skills Strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365, particularly Viva Engage, Viva Connections, SharePoint Online, and Teams. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 governance and security principles, including least-privilege access. Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical delivery. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 migration approaches and common migration tools. Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders. 2-5 years’ experience in a Microsoft 365 technical consultancy or similar role. Secondary/Desirable Skills Experience with Power Automate or Power BI for lightweight automation and reporting. Familiarity with Microsoft Graph or REST APIs for advanced scenarios. Microsoft 365 certifications or working towards them. Understanding of modern workplace adoption strategies and change management principles. Experience working with or advising on complementary workplace platforms (e.g. Workvivo, Blink).
