Your Role
As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with our controller to ensure our equipment is always operational and ready for our customers. Your mission? To perform timely and efficient routine maintenance and inspections, while also identifying potential issues that could affect availability. You’ll be an ambassador for safety, ensuring that every service promotes a safe environment for both yourself and our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Carry out routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (75% of your time).
* Machine Inspection: Conduct visual and mechanical analyses of machine conditions, highlighting any developing issues with systems and components (20% of your time).
* Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and perform undercarriage inspections (5% of your time).
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A basic knowledge of the four main product elements: Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics.
* Direct experience (around 3 years) in a related engineering function, such as car mechanic, HGV fitter, or Agricultural Engineer.
* A formal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G level 1.
* Health & Safety training is desirable but not essential, as we provide further training.
Working Conditions
This is a field-based role, and you’ll need to have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. Your working hours will be 43 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with one Saturday every three weeks at an overtime rate.
