Job Summary
The general pharmacy department is looking to recruit a pharmacy assistant to perform general duties which will support the efficient running of the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our highly motivated and focused teams to perform a variety of tasks associated with the supply of medicines to our wards. The successful candidate will receive the required training for the post.
Working Pattern
8:30 am – 5:00 pm four days a week and 10:30 am – 7:00 pm one day a week.
Main Duties
The post holder would be expected to work towards a BTEC Level 2 certificate in Principles and Practice for pharmacy support staff.
Job Responsibilities
* Experience in dealing with the public.
* Good organisational skills.
* Demonstrate high levels of accuracy in all areas of work.
* Able to work with PC input data and other information.
* Undertake further education, training and validation before being allowed to undertake the duties required of this post.
* Deal with telephone enquiries into the department and use knowledge to answer the query or pass it on to a relevant member of the pharmacy department.
* Work in a team or autonomously when working on the wards during top‑up duties.
* Participate in GDP training to meet the requirements of the wholesale dealer.
* Obtain licence.
* Undertake all mandatory training as requested by the Trust.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Good general education including GCSE grade C in Maths and English.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* NVQ 2 in pharmacy services.
Experience (Essential)
* Experience in customer care environment.
Experience (Desirable)
* Experience in a pharmacy environment.
Practical and Intellectual (Essential)
* Experience in customer care environment.
* Good all‑round communication skills, both verbal and written.
Practical and Intellectual (Desirable)
* Able to demonstrate good levels of accuracy in all areas of work.
* Good computer and keyboard skills.
Salary
£24,465 a year, pro‑rata.
