An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Extra Care Scheme at Riverside Heights, Darwen, for an Extra Care Team Leader. The applicant must be caring, dedicated, and flexible, possessing a ‘can-do’ approach and attitude, and be motivated to succeed. They should also have the skills to inspire and cultivate the staff team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of support care workers.
* Be the first point of contact for the Extra Care Team for any concerns or issues during the shift.
* Resolve issues and escalate to appropriate people when required.
* Take on Emergency On-call duties on a rolling rota basis to support the service.
* Conduct appraisals, supervisions, back-to-work interviews and medication competencies to ensure the care team follows Willowbrook Homecare policies and procedures and adheres to best practices.
* Occasionally work on shift to deliver high-quality care (to cover sickness, etc.).
What we are looking for – Key skills and attributes
* Someone who enjoys helping people and wants to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
* A caring nature with good personal values and a will to do well.
* Team Leader experience (preferable).
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Health & Social Care alongside a minimum QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
* IT skills are essential due to administrative tasks and future digital care development (Microsoft 365 preferred).
* Knowledge of Access (preferable).
* A positive and can-do attitude; commitment to the role; tact and patience.
* Creativity and proactivity; understanding of how people learn; interest in helping people develop their skills.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills; passion for furthering knowledge and expertise.
* Detail-driven with ability to complete thorough handovers, both verbal and written at shift end.
* Full driving licence and suitable transport.
