Key Details Job Title: Maths ECT Pay: Main Pay Scale 1 – £31,650 Duration: Permanent – September 2025 start School Type & Location: ‘Good’ Secondary School, Yardley Key Highlight: 77% GCSE (Grades 9–4) Maths pass rate in 2024 The Role This is an exciting opportunity for a Maths ECT to kick-start their teaching career in a strong, well-established department. You’ll be teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths with a possible pathway into Key Stage 5 as you progress. The Candidate The school is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths ECT who can bring fresh ideas and a positive attitude. You should have: A degree in Mathematics or a related field • QTS or be on track to achieve it by September 2025 • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills • The ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons • A strong desire to contribute to department planning and success The School Located in Yardley, this ‘Good’ rated secondary school is committed to driving academic excellence while supporting holistic development. ECT Induction As an Early Career Teacher, you will benefit from a structured two-year induction programme designed to support your professional growth and ensure a smooth transition into teaching. This programme follows the Early Career Framework (ECF) and provides comprehensive training, mentoring, and development opportunities tailored to your needs. ECF-based training modules: Covering core areas such as pedagogy, behaviour management, curriculum design, assessment, and professional conduct. Assigned mentor: A dedicated and experienced teacher providing regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support. Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from your mentor and school leadership. Personalised development plan: Tailored support based on your strengths and areas for improvement. Professional development opportunities: Access to workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your teaching skills. This induction programme is continuously monitored and adapted to ensure it meets your individual needs and the school’s expectations.
