Our public sector client based in Birmingham City Centre is recruiting for a court usher (Band F) to join their team as a temporary employee. This is a temporary role until the end of June 2025, with a good chance of extension. It is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with usual working hours around 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm, depending on business needs. The pay rate is £12.21 per hour, paid weekly.
The office location is B4 6DS, and this role is fully onsite.
As a court usher, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the courts. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with people from all walks of life. Your daily duties will include:
1. Setting up courtrooms (water, pads, pens, etc.)
2. Ensuring correct scheduling for courtrooms
3. Collating court files and papers
4. Giving directions to courtrooms
5. Recording outcomes
6. Photocopying, scanning, and filing
7. Answering telephone calls and relaying messages
Candidates with strong face-to-face customer service experience will be considered.
