Job Summary
One of the UK’s leading real estate investment and asset management companies has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Credit Controller to join their vibrant business.
This business is a well-established operator within the UK property sector, having experienced exponential growth over decades through a highly acquisitive investment strategy, culminating in a high-performing property portfolio.
As part of a dynamic and friendly team, you will coordinate the collection of commercial rent arrears across diverse asset classes by undertaking the following duties:
1. Undertake the collection of commercial rent arrears and ad hoc insurance, utilities, and service charges
2. Produce quarterly rent collection statistics and arrears reports
3. Present and discuss arrears positions at weekly meetings
4. Manage cash receipting
5. Prepare tenant deposit refunds
6. Manage the initiation of legal proceedings to resolve debts
7. Conduct accounts investigations and reconciliations
8. Manage the credit control inbox
9. Liaise professionally with tenants via phone and email
10. Negotiate payment plans with debtors
11. Assist with audit queries
12. Liaise with Property and Asset Management Teams
13. Assist with implementing process improvements in Credit Control
The successful candidate will have practical experience as a Credit Controller in the real estate and property sector, managing rent and service charge arrears.
Additionally, you should be proficient in preparing arrears reports using Excel, handling income receipting, and reconciliations, with a thorough understanding of credit control legislation and procedures.
You should also have strong relationship-building skills with tenants and stakeholders, excellent analytical skills, and debtor ledger management experience.
Finally, you will possess exemplary negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with enthusiasm, a diligent attitude, and a conscientious approach.
