Traffic Project Manager (with CAD experience)

Due to continued growth and development, we are expanding our team and are seeking an experienced Traffic Project Manager to lead complex operational and planning projects across the UK.
Role Purpose
As a Traffic Project Manager, you will take ownership of the planning, design, and delivery of temporary traffic management and parking operations for large-scale events—primarily on greenfield sites, combining technical expertise, CAD-based planning, and hands‑on operational management to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant traffic solutions.
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring excellence in service delivery, health & safety compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Traffic & Project Management
* Plan, manage and deliver multiple temporary traffic management schemes in compliance with Lantra M1‑M7 (or 12A/B) standards.
* Create and interpret CAD‑based traffic management layouts and site drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Chapter 8 and the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice.
* Oversee on‑site setup, operation, and removal of temporary traffic management systems including lane closures, diversions, contraflows, and parking layouts.
* Lead project planning meetings, produce RAMS, and coordinate pre‑event traffic planning with clients and authorities.
* Manage site teams including a mix of Traffic Management Operatives and our front line event team members, ensuring adherence to design specifications and operational safety.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Take responsibility for all aspects of site safety, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, Chapter 8, and company standards.
* Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements, and safety audits.
* Deliver on‑site operational briefings to all onsite team members, relevant to the role and site working within.
* Monitor and report incidents, near misses, and hazards in line with company procedures.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice in safety and
Leadership & Communication
* Act as the key point of contact for traffic management projects—liaising with clients, event organisers, local authorities, and control centres.
* Supervise and mentor operational teams, ensuring effective delivery and professional conduct on‑site.
* Support staff training and progression, including development of Lantra qualified operatives.
* Provide accurate reporting on project progress, issues, and resource use to the operations director.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Temporary Traffic Management, ideally within the outdoor events sector.
* Proven experience in managing traffic management projects from planning through to delivery.
* Strong working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) for producing site layouts and TTM plans.
* In‑depth understanding of Chapter 8, the Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice, and related legislation.
* Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex drawings and RAMS.
* Full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points).
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
