Pricing Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Management & Supplier Engagement:
•Take ownership of tenders received from the Business Development Team, reviewing the requirements and initiating the process to obtain quotes from energy suppliers.
•Proactively reach out to suppliers to gather competitive pricing, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of submitted offers.
•Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the most competitive rates and ensure value for the client.
•Track and manage supplier SLAs to ensure timely responses, ensuring tenders are completed within the required timeframes.
Cost Analysis & Pricing Recommendations:
•Input supplier offers and relevant charges (e.g. cost per kWh, standing charges, pass-through costs) into a detailed cost analysis spreadsheet for comparison.
•Analyse different charges, tariffs, and rates to determine the most competitive and cost-effective solution for the client.
•Develop pricing recommendations based on the cost analysis, providing clear rationale and insight to the BDM and internal stakeholders.
•Identify and analyse any complex pricing structures or unusual terms to ensure accurate representation of costs to the client.
Negotiation & Cost Optimisation:
•Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills to bring down supplier rates, ensuring margin protection for both the client and the consultancy.
Timely Delivery & Process Efficiency:
•Manage priorities and tight deadlines, ensuring all pricing tenders are delivered to the BDM promptly and accurately.
•Collaborate effectively with the BDMs and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the pricing process.
•Continuously monitor and improve pricing processes to increase speed and efficiency, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
Reporting & Documentation:
•Maintain a record of pricing offers, supplier communications, and analysis results for future reference and reporting purposes.
•Provide clear, concise reports on pricing recommendations, highlighting key factors that led to the chosen supplier offer.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
•Ideally have experience working within the energy/utilities industry – billing/data
•Strong MS Excel, comfortable analysing large sets of data for clients
•Excellent written and verbal skills
•Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
•Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing supplier offers and ensuring accurate data input.
•Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favourable pricing terms and build strong relationships with suppliers.
•Ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously, working under pressure to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
