Salary: £61,269 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible across 7 days; core hours Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Services Manager will hold a pivotal leadership position within LCD. They will lead and support non-GP clinical workforce across multiple locations (Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield). The role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to influence service delivery, mentorship, and professional development. Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supervising clinical teams to deliver safe and effective care.
* Developing clinical pathways and protocols to enhance service delivery.
* Supporting service mobilisation and development.
* Driving clinical excellence through audit, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
* Contributing to organisational objectives and aligning with LCDs operational and governance goals.
You will also maintain your professional practice by working clinically within LCD services.

Job Title: Clinical Services Manager
Base Location: Huddersfield
Line Manager: Associate Director of Operations (Ops); professionally accountable to the Director of Clinical Governance & Quality
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (flexible working required)
Staff Group: Clinical
DBS Check Level Required: Enhanced with Child & Adult Barring & Workforce
Vaccination Requirement Statement:
* Covid-19 vaccination not required but recommended

Job Purpose: Senior management role responsible for developing and delivering clinically safe and effective services.
KEY PRINCIPLES
1. The post holder must maintain professional & regulatory standards including CPD requirements.
2. The post holder may carry out some clinical work to maintain professional practice; not a substantial part of the role and to be agreed with the line manager.
3. Lead and supervise the non-medical workforce within LCD’s contact centre and patient-facing services (UTC/WIC).
4. Report to the Clinical Governance & Quality team for approvals where required.
5. Operate as part of the wider clinical team and promote best clinical practice and high standards of care.
6. Collaborate with clinicians to maintain performance, mentorship, and supervision through education, support and audit.
Key responsibilities & deliverables
1. Visible line management of clinical staff within area or hub teams.
2. Safe and effective delivery of clinical services aligned to KPIs and contract requirements.
3. Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the non-GP clinical workforce.
4. Contribute to service mobilisation and development through safe pathways and protocols.
5. Develop the non-GP clinical workforce in line with organisational standards.
6. Ensure the clinical services management team is integrated with the wider clinical team and governance standards are met.
7. Delivery of clinical projects; act as a role model for clinical excellence and organisational values.
Key Deliverables
1. Achievement of project timescales and objectives.
2. Adherence to professional and clinical governance standards.
3. Annual Clinical Services Plan aligned with Operations and Clinical Governance Plans.
Specific requirements to meet Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
1. Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and leadership of non-GP clinicians.
2. Maintain clinical performance standards within the team.
3. Develop communication channels to support staff and disseminate information; participate in clinical audits.
4. Liaise with Clinical Governance & Quality for approvals as needed.
5. Lead with a patient-centred approach while navigating the health and social care landscape.
Clinical leadership & supervision will include delivery of the following through a combination of clinical & operational management support mechanisms:
1. Recruitment and pre-employment checks; shadow shifts; induction and probation sign-off.
2. Mandatory training completion; PDRs and 121s; sickness/absence management and annual leave.
3. Continued professional development and performance management per governance standards.
4. Clinical audit and escalation of issues to regulators as required.
5. Maintain and implement a programme of performance review and support packages.
Supporting Service Mobilisation & Development
1. Provide clinical input to mobilisation, delivery, and development of LCD services; develop care pathways and protocols.
2. Pathways, protocols, and policy changes must be approved by Clinical Governance & Quality.
3. Lead on tasks and attend relevant meetings; participate in Operations Management Team meetings.
Workforce Development
1. Ensure clinical workforce rota aligns with delivery and budget.
2. Collaborate with HR and education colleagues to support non-medical clinicians and service resilience.
Partnerships & System Integration
1. Identify opportunities for growth with the Service Development team across the Integrated Care System (ICS) and stakeholders.
2. Support bid processes with clinical advice and patient-centered service development.
3. Engage in Gateway processes for new services or major changes.
4. Meet with stakeholders and ensure service user expectations are met while maintaining contractual specifications.
5. Build relationships with stakeholders with integrity and clinical credibility.
Clinical integration
1. Embed within the wider clinical team and engage with Clinical Governance; represent the CSM team in clinical meetings.
2. Regular reviews with the Director of Clinical Governance to align aims and objectives.
3. Attend clinical meetings as agreed; maintain a clinical leadership focus through ongoing practice or teaching (minimum 7.5 hours/week).
Project management
1. Deliver key projects as agreed with the Director of Ops and align with project objectives.
2. Prepare project plans and provide update reports as agreed.
Tactical Health Commander Role
LCD operates a 24/7 on-call rota. On-call duties may be required; training and guidance will be provided. The listed duties are not exhaustive and the postholder will undertake reasonable activities as directed by the line manager.
