12 months contract. This role is available working from home in England or Wales, the team meets up once a month in Shrewsbury.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Child to Parent Abuse (CPA) Practitioner to provide specialist support to parental figures experiencing child-to-parent abuse. The successful candidate will have experience working with vulnerable individuals, delivering interventions, and facilitating workshops. Note that we do not work with children.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a personal caseload, working 1:1 with parental figures to provide tailored support, this will include on the telephone, video calls, texting, emailing and where outreach is applicable, in person.
* Developing and working through support plans with parents, ensuring safety and risk management are prioritised.
* Completing relevant documents, providing emotional support, and offering advocacy in meetings and written communications.
* Facilitating practitioner-led sessions as part of a rota, this will include evening sessions
* Delivering workshops and structured programmes for parents this may at times include evening sessions
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all casework is up to date.
* Managing a personal diary and associated administrative tasks.
* Attending practitioner meetings, supervision sessions, and team meetings regularly.
* Collating monthly reports, outcomes, and impact data.
* Engaging in continuous professional development and implementing training learnings into practice.
* Representing PEGS at external meetings and events where appropriate.
* Supporting the triage process during busy periods.
* Any other reasonable task
Job Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A person-centred trauma informed approach, with experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
* Ability to deliver and develop workshops and training programmes or be willing to learn
* Proficiency in record-keeping, report writing, and administration.
* Excellent computer skills, including managing case records and reports.
* Experience in advocacy and supporting individuals in meetings.
* Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience working within domestic abuse, safeguarding, or support services.
* Knowledge of child-to-parent abuse and barriers associated for parental figures experiencing child-to-parent abuse
* Experience in triage and risk assessment.
* Understanding of data collection and impact reporting.
