Our client, an engineering design consultancy, is looking for a Temporary Works Engineer to join their team in Croydon. Responsibilities: Carry out preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works. Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation. Conduct structural analysis and ensure all designs meet relevant codes and standards. Support preparation of technical and fee proposals. Coordinate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams. Undertake site visits and inspections as required. Manage project progress, deadlines, and communication across stakeholders. Provide technical input and guidance to junior engineers. Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years experience, ideally in temporary works or rail-related projects. Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and analysis methods. Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is beneficial. Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality systems. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course. Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent). Actively progressing towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Additional Information: A full, clean driving licence is desirable. PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification preferred. Some site work, including occasional overnight or weekend work, may be required.
