As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside subject teachers to support students within lessons, deliver small-group interventions, and help pupils engage with the secondary curriculum. This role offers hands-on classroom experience within a supportive school environment.
Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Graduate Teaching Assistant role is designed for graduates considering a future career in education or teacher training.
Key responsibilities:
1. Supporting learning within mainstream secondary classrooms
2. Working with small groups and individual pupils
3. Assisting teachers with lesson activities and resources
4. Supporting student engagement and progress
Requirements:
5. A degree in any subject area
6. Experience working with young people is preferred but not essential
7. An interest in secondary education and classroom practice
This Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal preparation for PGCE, SCITT, or School Direct teacher training routes.
