Covering the South, East, and West of Wales Ty Hafan offers a beautiful, newly refurbished working environment set in idyllic grounds a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff. We have an exciting opportunity for two newly qualified nurses to join our highly experienced care team.We are looking for student nurses due to register this summer, who are passionate about providing holistic family centred care. As a newly registered nurse at Ty Hafan you will benefit from our robust preceptorship programme, supporting you to develop and embed new clinical skills capabilities in a structured way. At Ty Hafan our staff pride themselves on being able to make a difference, through multiple opportunities to get to know the families in our care and supporting what is important to them. As a member of our care team you will work closely with a wider team of professionals to provide truly intuitive and creative care that goes beyond just clinical tasks. Candidates will be required to work 37.5 hours a week, covering 3 x 12-hrs shifts (days & nights) a week and 1 x 6hrs early or late shift a month. Palliative care is defined as the total care of individuals from diagnosis of a life-shortening condition, beyond transition into adult services, or in providing extensive bereavement support. It is important to remember that paediatric palliative care is so much more than just end of life care, Ty Hafan holds enhancing quality of life at its very core. About the role As a newly registered Nurse your responsibility will be to deliver safe, clinical nursing care to children resident in the hospice, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. To support your transition from student nurse to registered nurse, you will begin your career with a structured three weeks of induction, overseen by our professional development team. Following this you will work alongside a preceptor as you develop your skills to assess, plan and deliver individualised nursing care aligned to current guidelines, regulations and policies. Our skilled team will support you to develop the confidence and competence needed to provide specialist care for children and young people with a wide range of complex conditions.
