Rate: £32 per hour
Contract: Locum - 3‑month rolling contract
Working Pattern: Full‑time, 36 hours per week
Hybrid Working: 3 days remote / 2 days office‑based

Caritas Recruitment is recruiting two Qualified Adult Social Workers to join Haringey Council's First Response Team on a locum basis. This role sits within a strengths‑based model of practice, supporting residents at the point of first contact to improve their independence, wellbeing and outcomes through timely assessment, intervention and partnership working.
The Role
You will hold a caseload within the First Response Team, working with adults, carers and families to deliver strengths‑based assessments, reviews and short‑term interventions. The role focuses on enabling people to maximise independence, access community‑based support and make informed decisions about their care.
You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary partners, including health, housing, social care and the ICB, to coordinate appropriate support and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Work within a strengths‑based practice model, holding a caseload to support residents to improve independence and wellbeing
Undertake strengths‑based assessments, reviews and support planning, enabling residents to build resilience and improve quality of life
Provide information, advice and practical support to residents and carers, including:
Assistive technology, aids and adaptations
Benefit maximisation
Haringey Connected Communities
Employment and volunteering opportunities
Assess and coordinate short‑term care and respite support to reduce carer breakdown
Work collaboratively with adults, carers, families and communities to:
Support informed decision‑making
Enable individuals to clarify and express their needs
Contribute meaningfully to support planning
Liaise with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team, ICB colleagues, housing and wider social care partners to gather information relevant to assessments and plans
Ensure accurate and timely electronic case recording, including preparation of panel documentation and other required reports
Work collaboratively within MDT forums to ensure clients' voices are central to assessment and decision‑making
Participate in Making Safeguarding Personal, contributing to risk assessments and protection planning
Work in line with the National Framework for Continuing Health Care, ensuring individuals are informed about appropriate pathways
Undertake special projects, visits and group work linked to statutory duties
Act in accordance with council and departmental policies, including equal opportunities
Undertake relevant training as required
What We're Looking For
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Experience working within Adult Social Care, ideally within front‑door or first response services
Strong understanding of strengths‑based practice, safeguarding and risk management
Ability to work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary environments
Confident managing assessments, short‑term interventions and complex decision‑making
Strong communication, assessment and recording skills
