Centre Manager – Active Hampton (Full‑Time)
Active Hampton, TW12 3YH. This facility is currently operated by the Borough’s Sport & Fitness team and is in the development stages of becoming a fully functioning local community sports centre. The centre offers a multi‑use sports hall, communal area, kitchen and an external multi‑use games area. It is now open for existing block bookings and opening hours to the public are being extended to:
 * Weekdays from 9am to 10pm
 * Weekends from 9am to 6pm
The role will be a 36‑hour week on a rota that includes daytime, evening and weekend shifts. Until the centre is fully operational, you may also be required to work at other off‑site locations.
Salary: SO2: £37,602 to £45,564 per annum (subject to qualifications and experience). The package also includes a generous holiday allowance of 40 paid days per year (including bank holidays) and a wide range of staff benefits such as pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest‑free travel loans, and discounts with many leisure activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage the Active Hampton Sports & Fitness Centre and work with internal and external partners to improve facilities, develop services and schedule a new comprehensive adult and junior programme in line with the Council’s Sport and Leisure Strategy. Once fully operational you will have direct supervision of a team of permanent staff and a bank of casual staff, providing one‑to‑one coaching, appraisals and team meetings. Your workload will cover programming, finance, health & safety, marketing, quality assurance, facility development and staff management. You will also act as Duty Manager when required, getting involved in day‑to‑day operations.
What We’ll Need From You
 * Suitable sport, leisure, recreation or relevant management qualification and First Aid qualification.
 * Significant previous experience in a leisure/fitness environment, ideally at management level.
 * Good communication and organisational skills.
 * Knowledge of the operational management of a sports and fitness centre, Health & Safety procedures, and understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and service provision.
