About the Role
We're looking for a
Commissioning Engineer
to join our skilled engineering team, delivering smoke and comfort ventilation systems across Scotland. You'll be responsible for installation support, commissioning, servicing, diagnostics, and repair works—ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to compliance standards.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, experience in life-safety or building services systems, and the ambition to develop into a sector specialist.
We're Looking For Someone With:
* Experience commissioning, installing, servicing, or diagnosing life-safety systems – smoke vents, fire alarms, access control, or similar.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply industry regulations.
* Knowledge of BS or willingness to learn).
* Practical, hands-on ability and problem-solving mindset.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* A clean, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland (minimal overnight stays).
* Valid CSCS or ECS card (or relevant qualifications that allow you to obtain one).
* Eligibility to join the PVG scheme, as some work may take place in buildings with vulnerable adults and children.
Key Responsibilities
* Commission and test smoke ventilation and associated systems.
* Support with installation, repair, servicing, and diagnostics as required.
* Carry out site surveys for new service, repair, and installation contracts.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and to compliance standards.
* Create and adhere to RAMS, maintaining accurate records and job reports.
* Manage stock, check deliveries, and support efficient resource use.
* Provide mentorship for junior engineers and lead onsite training when needed.
* Liaise professionally with clients, keeping them updated on job progress and resolving issues effectively.

Ability to commute/relocate:
Greenock PA15 1LJ: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Engineers mainly service buildings across West & Central Scotland and must be able to commute to our Greenock office to collect stock and attend meetings when required.
Experience:
* Fire Detection/Alarm / Smoke Ventilation / Fire Suppression: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (required)
* CSCS or ECS Card (preferred)
Additional Requirement:
* Applicants must be able to pass a PVG check to work in buildings with vulnerable adults and children.
