Professional Clerk to the Governing Body
An exciting opportunity exists to be part of a service provision to Neath Port Talbot schools. You will be responsible for a specific group of governing bodies; organising, attending, and administrating meetings. You will work on a wide range of duties, including officiating ballots and elections of new governors, and providing independent advice on the interpretation and implementation of education-specific legislation affecting the governing body.
Training and mentoring will be provided; however, rapid self-learning will be required to become a specialist in School Governance.
Work hours will vary depending on meeting schedules, occasionally extending into the evenings. This is a permanent, all-inclusive salary role based on term-time working (40 weeks per year). Extensive travel around the County Borough is required, for which reimbursement will be provided.
You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and personal queries. Sound administrative, office management, record-keeping, and ICT skills are essential, along with responsibility for maintaining multiple databases.
Ideally, candidates should possess at least 4 GCSEs (grades A to C), including English Language and Maths.
If you believe you have the necessary experience and qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
This role offers flexible hybrid working, allowing you to work from home and various Council workplaces, on any days and at any times.
