Three fixed-term positions have arisen at St Mary's Primary School in Polbeth. The successful candidates will provide direct support to pupils within the mainstream setting. Under the guidance of designated teachers, the postholders will support learning by undertaking activities related to supervising, ensuring safety, caring for, and promoting the wellbeing of pupils. They will also facilitate the full participation and integration of pupils with additional needs, supporting them both in the classroom and around the school.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidates will have six months from the start date to register with the SSSC. Applications must be submitted within three months of employment start date. If already registered with the SSSC, candidates will need to add West Lothian Council to their account.
This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
