We are a council that prioritises Children’s Services, seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed professional social worker to join our Children and Young People Team based in Cudworth.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a service where children feel safe, are listened to, and receive a timely, creative and individual response.
* Focus on outcomes for children and young people, ensuring that interventions in children’s lives are meaningful and proportionate.
* Work in partnership with families and agencies to drive plans and promote outcomes for children subject to Child In Need, Child Protection and in care proceedings.
* Participate in a comprehensive induction programme, receive dedicated supervision and benefit from a Continuous Professional Development programme through the Practice Development Hub.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Social Work Degree and registration with Social Work England.
* Experience working with children subject to Child In Need, Child Protection and care proceedings.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Enhanced DBS Check (or, if currently living overseas, an overseas criminal records check is required).
* Prepared to start work with all necessary legal documents, including a valid visa (Barnsley Council does not provide sponsorship).
