Wardell Armstrong LLP is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy with offices throughout the UK, employing approximately 500 staff. We have been providing expert archaeological and heritage services for over 25 years. Our Archaeology team is based at six of Wardell Armstrong's UK offices, with our largest centres in Bury St Edmunds and Carlisle, which feature purpose-built facilities for post-excavation and fieldwork operations. We offer diverse project experiences and opportunities for professional development.

We are seeking a Field Archaeologist based in Carlisle to support our expanding regional projects. Candidates should have at least 3 months of site experience in commercial archaeology, though we also consider graduates or applicants with equivalent experience and qualifications.

The role involves working as part of our team on various sites, including evaluations and excavations. Experience or willingness to learn geophysics projects is desirable. Knowledge of paper-based and digital recording systems is also beneficial but not essential.


Ideal Candidate Should Have:

* Practical experience on archaeological sites
* A degree in archaeology or equivalent experience
* Driving license


Desirable:

* CIfA membership at PCIfA level

Applicants must be flexible with travel and working hours, as projects are across the UK. A full driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
