Following a successful interview for the National Teaching Assistant Programme and pending suitability, safeguarding, and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to develop your skills further. You will be supported in choosing whether to work in primary, secondary, or SEND provisions and will receive ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
Upon completing the National Teaching Assistant Programme, this role involves placement within a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) setting. These settings may involve working with individuals who have ADHD, ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, or SEMH, depending on your skills, personality traits, preferences, and strengths. The settings across Newcastle upon Tyne require individuals who are passionate about caring, understanding, and motivating SEN pupils to succeed.
Requirements
To be eligible for the National Teaching Assistant Programme, you will:

* Be flexible, proactive, and a team player.
* Understand the importance of safeguarding children and young people.
* Be able to explain during an interview why you want to start a career in education and your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant.
* Be committed to completing required training and ongoing CPD.
* Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.
