Job Title: Forensic Social Worker Location: Enfield Salary: £36,500 per year Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours) About the Role An established private hospital in North London is looking to recruit a Forensic Social Worker to join their team. This is a full-time position, with an opportunity to work in a secure environment providing specialist mental health care to individuals with complex needs and severe mental illness. The hospital offers a combination of acute and secure wards, focusing on patients who require a safe and secure setting while they receive treatment and support for recovery. As a Forensic Social Worker, you will provide leadership in safeguarding, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and engage in assessments, care planning, and tribunal reports to support patient treatment and access to services. Key Responsibilities: Provide expertise and leadership in safeguarding and promote patient safety, dignity, and compassion. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team focusing on prevention, early intervention, resilience-building, and self-care. Undertake assessments and care planning, providing necessary reports for tribunal hearings and relevant social care frameworks. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care and support the development of individual recovery plans. Investigate, evaluate, and learn from allegations to enhance safety and improve the overall care environment. Lead initiatives focused on rights, autonomy, and positive outcomes for individuals and families. What You'll Bring to the Role: A degree-level Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration. Detailed knowledge of Mental Health legislation, including the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Safeguarding legislation such as the Care Act 2014. Proven experience in working with complex, high-risk individuals in forensic settings. Strong multidisciplinary collaboration skills, including the ability to contribute to recovery-focused practices. Excellent judgment, partnership working, and the ability to critically reflect, lead, and model effective practice in complex situations while maintaining professional boundaries.
