POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you ready to dive deep into the world of LMR (Land, Mobile & Radio) security systems? In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise in RF design, system configuration, complex troubleshooting, and optimization. You will be the backbone of our LMR solutions, ensuring their technical integrity and performance from design to deployment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Project Engineer providing embedded design services, your responsibilities will include:
* Design and Documentation
o Create comprehensive, accurate, and installable design packages, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, and detailed installation details.
o Ensure designs meet client standards, incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, and comply with building codes.
o Review design calculations and coordinate photometric and lighting requirements.
o Complete and submit programming forms for system commissioning.
o Participate in review meetings to integrate feedback and adapt standards for unique site conditions.
* Installation and Coordination
o Develop a detailed construction schedule for security activities and lead coordination meetings.
o Act as the central point of contact for security requirements with major trades, including electrical engineers and architects.
o Ensure all equipment and materials are procured and installed according to design specifications.
o Obtain necessary permits and licenses, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
o Oversee installation quality and ensure adherence to best practices.
o Protect Security Systems and property throughout the project lifecycle.
* Project Closeout
o Coordinate system programming and oversee pre-installation sign-offs and testing.
o Demonstrate all systems for final acceptance.
o Prepare and submit final O&M manuals and as-built documents.
o Provide training for security, facility, and technical staff as needed.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave or similar), Level 2 or higher.
* Experience in radio operations deployment.
* A minimum of 3–5 years in a technical design position.
* Familiarity with analogue, digital (e.g., P25, DMR, TETRA), and DAS system design processes.
DESIRED CRITERIA
* Experience with AutoCAD.
* Familiarity with BIM365.
* Experience using BLUEBEAM.
