Working in the accounts team, you will help to deliver information to management and supporting departments to ensure the right business support.

Our client has a need for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their wonderful team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave until 30th October 2026. This role gives great exposure in a not-for-profit organisation. This role will support the production of the monthly and annual accounts, forecasts, and budgets. Working in the accounts team, you will help to deliver information to management and supporting departments to ensure the right business support.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To assist with the production of monthly management accounts and year-end accounts
2. To assist with the preparation of the group’s budget and forecasting
3. To assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and to carry out detailed analysis
4. To investigate and understand significant variances
5. To prepare and post accruals/prepayment journals
6. To assist in the maintenance of the fixed asset register for both housing and non-housing assets
7. Assist in improving the reporting and accounts production process
8. To assist in the reconciliation of key control accounts
9. To ensure procedures and guidance notes are documented, maintained, and complied with
10. To keep up to date with any system updates and changes, and arrange the workflow to enable control parameters to be kept in place
11. To undertake any relevant training as required

13. 15. To provide the highest quality services incorporating best standards and practices, promoting the company to its tenants, clients, and customers
16. Taking ownership and responsibility to respond to complaints positively and professionally (as appropriate to role)
17. To ensure that maximum use is made of information technology systems and associated equipment in the provision of efficient and effective services
18. Ensure the quality, accurate maintenance, and protection of data relevant to the role
19. Knowledge and understanding of the CIH professional behaviours and standards, which include characteristics such as integrity, knowledge, skill, leadership, ethics, inclusion, and advocacy
20. To perform any other duties not specifically identified in the job description, but which are in line with the general responsibilities of the post

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £26,452 Per Annum
