Our placement is designed to apply your studies, develop technical skills, and gain insight into the business.
Industrial Placement Programme
You will spend a year on site, working on meaningful projects alongside subject matter experts in multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle.
Salary £25,000 with coaching and support from a dedicated team to achieve placement objectives and personal development goals.
Successful completion may lead to an offer on our Graduate Development Programme.
At least three days each week on site are encouraged to maximise learning.
What You Will Do as an Industrial Placement Electronics Engineer
Support the design and development of world‑leading electro‑optical, communications and information system products under the guidance of experienced Electronics Engineering Leads.
Use state‑of‑the‑art methods, technology and tools to explore all aspects of the development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, acceptance and product support.
Interface with internal and external customers and collaborate closely with Engineers from Mechanical, Software, Systems, Supportability and Design Integrity teams.
Design, document, build and test electronics circuits and firmware for our systems.
Involved in mixed‑signal design, power‑supply design, DAC/ADC, FPGA, high‑speed serial interfaces and video/communication processing algorithms across products such as Thermal Imaging Cameras, Vehicle Camera systems, Counter UAV systems, Electronic Warfare products and Communication Systems.
Develop expertise in circuit, FPGA and subsystem design, including requirements capture, performance analysis, design, coding, verification, validation, support to integration and qualification.

* Learn the skills required to become a professional Electronics Engineer.
* Work to established timescales.
* Contribute to engineering team decisions and understand their impact on project success.
* Undertake day‑to‑day engineering activities with support.
* Ask for support when appropriate and learn from more experienced members.
* Explore new experiences and opportunities to learn within the engineering environment.
Qualifications
Currently studying an electronics‑biased degree with modules covering digital design, analogue design and signal processing.
Experience with PCB design and simulation tools is highly desirable.
Security Clearance
