Provide specialist building surveying leadership across sites complex, listed and live public, scientific and collections environments. You will plan and deliver fabric inspections, condition surveys and lifecycle advice; scope and manage fabric works; safeguard heritage significance; and ensure all activities protect collections, visitors, staff and research while complying with statutory, conservation and client requirements. You will be a key interface between CBRE and the main stakeholders on site.

* Zero harm to people, collections and heritage fabric; full compliance with PTW, RAMS and site rules
* On‑time delivery of inspections, programmes and remedials with minimal disruption to public and research activity
* Accurate, timely asset/fabric data aligned to AIR/EIR and audit‑ready record keeping
* Demonstrable contribution to improved environmental conditions, leak reduction, lifecycle outcomes and value for money
* Positive stakeholder feedback and strong governance reporting (KPI/SLA performance)
Qualifications & Experience
MRICS (Building Surveying) or equivalent. Desirable: IHBC accreditation or RICS Conservation accreditation (BCS) and experience with Grade I/II listed buildings.
Proven experience working in live public/cultural, heritage or science/laboratory estates; museum/gallery experience advantageous.
Strong technical competency across inspections/defect diagnosis, specifications/schedules, contract administration (NEC/JCT), CDM 2015 and Building Regulations 2023.
Excellent risk management and H&S competence: asbestos awareness/coordination, fire‑stopping, working at height, hot works, lone working; authoring RAMS and operating PTW.
Data and systems literate: confident with CAFM/EAMS (e.g., Archibus), MS 365 and reporting tools; understanding of AIR/EIR, SFG20 and Business‑Focused Maintenance principles.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication; able to influence and collaborate with curators, scientists, contractors and operational teams.
Able to prioritise and plan around events, security zoning and restricted access; comfortable with out‑of‑hours and weekend work as needed.
Baseline Personnel Security Standard/DBS eligible; full UK driving licence.
Some duties will require access to Restricted (Zone 3) and Highly Restricted (Zone 4) spaces and invigilated collections/lab areas; training and local inductions will be provided.
Role will interface with main stakeholder's multi‑site portfolio and future developments; occasional travel between sites is essential.
