Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a 75% of the top of Band 6 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 6 scale.
The Role
Process a broad range of specialist and routine laboratory diagnostic investigations in Haematology/Blood Transfusion using a range of scientific measurements and technical procedures on patient samples.
Provides advice to clinicians and other healthcare staff as to appropriateness of tests and time-scales.
Responsible for own work and uses specialist training to operate complex equipment and solve problems.
Acts as a mentor to less experienced Biomedical Scientists and participates in training /supervision of Trainee Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants.

6. Specialist Diploma in Haematology/ Blood Transfusion or Clinical Chemistry or/Blood Science or evidence to demonstrate working towards completion
7. Previous experience of working in as a Biomedical Scientist in an NHS Clinical Laboratory environment.
8. Specialist Diploma in either Haematology and Blood Transfusion or Clinical Chemistry /Blood Science or evidence to demonstrate working towards completion
9. Team Worker
