Plumbing Trainer Construction Salary : £34,484 to £38,881 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week Reference: REC2414 | Closing Date: Thursday 21 st May 2026 The Opportunity Barnsley College is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Trainer / IQA - Plumbing & Heating to support the delivery and quality assurance of apprenticeship standards within the Engineering and Construction area. This role is central to ensuring apprentices receive high-quality training, assessment and support throughout their programme. You will manage a caseload of learners, working closely with employers to plan, deliver, assess and review learning, while ensuring all activity meets awarding body, college and funding compliance requirements. You will play a key role in preparing apprentices for end-point assessment and monitoring off-the-job training, providing regular guidance, feedback and progression reviews. Alongside delivery, you will contribute to internal verification activity and continuous improvement through standardisation and quality assurance processes. The role involves delivering apprenticeship standards both in college and in the workplace, engaging with employers throughout the sign-up process, carrying out initial assessments and helping to build long-term employer relationships. About You You will be an experienced professional within Plumbing and Heating who is passionate about developing others. You will be organised, proactive and confident working independently with apprentices and employers, as well as collaboratively within a wider team. You will enjoy coaching and mentoring learners in the workplace, supporting them to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for successful completion of their apprenticeship. You will bring a positive, motivating approach and be committed to maintaining high standards of assessment, quality and safeguarding practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
