Where will you be working? M Group Telecom At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks. Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? We’re looking for a hands-on Supervisor to lead our teams not just working on the Openreach contract but Virgin Media also. This is a key role where you’ll help us deliver high-quality telecoms work across the region. You’ll be out in the field, making sure everything runs smoothly, safely and on time. You’ll work closely with our crews and make sure they have what they need to get the job done. You’ll check the work, solve problems and keep things moving. You’ll also be the link between our teams and the client, so clear communication is vital. This role is all about action. You’ll be planning, checking, guiding and improving. You’ll help us meet targets and keep standards high. You’ll also support your team, helping them grow and succeed. The successful candidate will be required to hold a current and comprehensive NRSWA Supervisor Street Works qualification, encompassing Units 10 through 16, as a baseline requirement for overseeing works in the public highway. In addition, accreditation under the Smart Awards framework—specifically the Network Operative Passport Scheme (NOPS)—is essential, reflecting the technical and safety competencies expected in this role. Possession of Passive Infrastructure Access (PIA) certification is considered advantageous, particularly for candidates with experience in Openreach environments. A full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of twelve months and with no more than six penalty points, is mandatory due to the mobile nature of the role and the geographic spread of operational sites. Familiarity with Openreach infrastructure, including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) and Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC) networks, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a robust understanding of telecommunications engineering, with particular emphasis on underground civil engineering and cable installation methodologies. A strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessment procedures, and local authority permitting processes is essential. The role demands a high level of operational awareness, regulatory compliance, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with professionalism and precision. What’s in it for you?
