The Behaviour Support Coordinator will have an understanding of, and enthusiasm for, creating opportunities for all pupils to achieve their potential, whatever their individual needs, through the development of positive behaviour strategies, proactive support plans and a nurturing, relationship based approach. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to supporting pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs (ALN), including those who may experience emotional regulation difficulties, sensory needs or behaviours that challenge. They will bring a strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma informed approaches, using these to promote safety, connection and consistency across the school. Strong communication skills, a calm and reflective approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies are essential. Experience of working with pupils who have additional learning needs (ALN) is essential.
