Job Description
A well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to support its growing workload across power, energy and complex infrastructure projects.
This is an opportunity to work on nationally significant schemes including substations, grid upgrades and renewable energy facilities, alongside projects in industrial, defence and transport environments.
The business operates across multiple UK offices and is known for delivering technically robust, safety-critical engineering solutions on complex projects.
The Role
Youll be involved in the design and delivery of structural solutions across a diverse project portfolio, with particular exposure to power and energy infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and specifying structural elements for infrastructure projects
* Producing drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports in line with current standards
* Reviewing structural calculations, drawings and supplier submissions
* Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient solutions
* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate
* Ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM regulations
About You
* Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Solid structural design experience, ideally within infrastructure or energy projects
* Progressing toward Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE)
* Comfortable using structural analysis software such as MasterSeries, STAAD or Tedds
* Strong understanding of UK design standards and regulatory requirements
* Clear communicator who works well across disciplines
* Eligible for UK security clearance
* UK project experience gained via employment, internship or graduate role
This role would particularly suit a Structural Engineer who is close to achieving chartership and looking to gain deeper exposure to power sector projects within a business that encourages cross-sector experience rather than siloed teams.
Whats On Offer
* Exposure to large-scale, critical infrastructure projects
* Hybrid and flexible working options
* Full support toward professional accreditation
* Clear career progression pathways
* Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
* Pension contribution (matched)
* Life assurance
* Generous annual leave with option to buy more
* Flexible benefits scheme
* Family-friendly policies and employee assistance support
Many projects sit within regulated or security-sensitive sectors, so the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate UK security clearance.
If youre a structural engineer ready to step into larger infrastructure schemes and broaden your technical exposure across sectors, Id be keen to have a confidential conversation.
