Rate of Pay: £15.88 - £20.74 per hour
Summary:
The Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with parking regulations within the London Borough of Havering. The role involves patrolling streets and car parks, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles in contravention, and offering guidance to the public on parking regulations. The officer plays a key role in reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety, and supporting the efficient use of parking resources across the borough.
Responsibilities:
* Patrol designated areas (on foot or by vehicle) to monitor and enforce parking regulations.
* Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles found in contravention of parking regulations.
* Check parking meters, pay-and-display machines, and controlled parking zones to ensure proper functioning.
* Provide accurate and clear information to the public regarding parking policies and regulations.
* Report defects, damaged signs, or faulty equipment to the appropriate authorities.
Qualifications:
* GCSEs (AC) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
Requirements:
* Valid UK driving license (where mobile patrolling is required).
* Basic IT literacy for using handheld enforcement devices and reporting tools.
* Previous experience working in a public-facing role.
* Experience in handling challenging or confrontational situations.
* Proven ability to follow procedures and policies consistently.
