Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Location: Glasgow (on site) Salary: Up to £42 000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: · Conducting all inspection activities in line with Programme’s inspection and test plan with applicable standards and specifications (Multi Trade) · Ensuring all test activities are completed and compliant in line with relevant test forms as owned by the Quality Control Team · Compiling and issuing all relevant reports in a timely manner and maintain accurate records in the sited format · Implementing Quality Tools and Techniques across Programme through continuous improvement · Supporting Quality Investigation/internal audit / process confirmation within the Naval Ships Programmes · Supporting the Zero Defect Culture/Right First time across Naval Ships and into Supply Chain Your skills and experiences: Essential: · Time served or equivalent qualification (Mechanical/Pipefitter and/or Inspection) · Extensive knowledge and understanding of the trade application and industry standards/specification · Experience in relevant measuring tools and testing techniques Desirable: · Understanding of quality tools and techniques inclusive of basic knowledge of office suite such as Excel and Microsoft Word · Experience of Shipbuilding Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Quality Control Team: The current quality control team is vastly diverse and competent across all trade groups with the main QC department being made up of circa 40 inspectors across three main sections, Dimensional Control (DCT), Non Destructive Examination (NDE) & Quality Control Inspectors (Trade). The successful candidate will be joining a current a team of 3 mechanical/pipefitter inspectors and have the opportunity to learn and adapt skills as part of an extremely competent team.
