Could you be our new Digital Medicines Lead?

We are seeking an experienced pharmacy professional with leadership in a multidisciplinary team to join the Digital Transformation Team as the clinical and operational lead for our BetterMeds ePMA system.
Main duties
The postholder will be responsible for all medicines optimisation aspects of the Trust Electronic Patient Record (EPR), including:
* Being the Trust lead for inpatient ePMA system, BetterMeds
* Wider deployment of the system into new specialties
* Continuous improvement and optimisation of the live system
* Leading the clinical governance processes that wrap around digital medicines
You will be the professional link between the Trust EPR programme and Pharmacy Services, contributing to clinical leadership and the clinical safety team for the EPR, and supporting ePMA maintenance and development.
Your role will also involve supporting and training other members of the Digital Health Team to ensure the ePMA and wider digital medicines ecosystem has robust and resilient support addressing the needs of the whole clinical team.
The post-holder will have a specific focus on the Trust strategic pillar "Journey to Outstanding" and the enabling pillars of Digital and Data.

Job responsibilities
Digital Medicines Optimisation & Governance
* Ensure all elements of ePMA workstreams and the wider EPR programme address key medication safety priority areas
* Collaborate with clinicians to ensure ePMA supports medicines optimisation
* Engage appropriate highly-specialist clinical pharmacy and medicines expertise for developing speciality systems
* Work with Trust Medication Safety Office (MSO) and clinical governance teams on medication risk, near-misses and errors involving ePMA
* Partner with the Business Intelligence team to improve reporting functionality to support medicines optimisation and safety
* Participate in configuration and maintenance of ePMA systems with MDT colleagues and vendor partners (e.g., Alcidion)
* Report medication incidents involving ePMA where it is a contributory factor via the Yellow Card system
* Write and maintain elements of Trust-wide policy pertaining to digital medicines optimisation

Person specification
Education and Training
Essential
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Medicines management qualification
* Masters level degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
Desirable
* Leadership qualification
* Clinical Safety qualification
* Project or programme management qualification or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
* In-depth knowledge of medicines safety and hospital pharmacy processes
* Understanding of digital medicines principles, including interoperability standards (dm+d) and DCB clinical safety processes
* Good data analysis skills and ability to handle quantitative and qualitative data
* Understanding of operational issues in a large NHS organisation
* Ability to work independently, analyse complex problems and prioritise workload
* Strong computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, risk management, and project management software
* Excellent time management and communication skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and to influence stakeholders

Desirable
* Knowledge of safety science and human factors in healthcare
* Understanding of developing and implementing digital clinical systems
Experience
* Extensive experience in NHS hospital pharmacy, including leadership roles
* Experience using an ePMA system, preferably in secondary care
* Experience deploying a new ePMA system
* Experience in medicines governance and safety, including medication incident investigation
* Experience delivering training and facilitating learning
* Experience in direct line management and HR processes
* Experience overseeing projects or programmes with proactive mitigation and escalation
