RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CYBER SECURITY MONITORING Planning & Strategy Design and implement a target operating model for a Security Operating Centre. Develop and implement a cyber security monitoring plan. Collaborate with Programme leads to integrate security monitoring in the implementation roadmap. Security Monitoring Design Define key security logging and monitoring requirements Support tooling selection for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) for MOD. Work with application owners, vendors, network/security teams, and compliance to define security controls. Identify critical components and data flows that require enhanced monitoring. Integrate logs into the SIEM system. Set up alerts and dashboards for monitoring suspicious activity.Threat Detection & Incident Response Coordinate incident triage, investigation, and response specific to CSM solution related security events. Ensure security monitoring aligns with audit and compliance requirements and providing logs, evidence, and reports on request. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on security posture and incident trends. Risk Management Conduct regular security risk assessments. Recommend and track risk mitigation actions related to monitoring gaps.
