MMP Consultancy is seeking a Compliance Manager on behalf of a local authority based in south Hampshire. This is an interim contract paying £450pd inside of IR35 on a 6-month contract, subject to extension. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
The successful candidate will lead compliance activities within the local authority's Property Services team.
This vital role ensures that statutory compliance responsibilities are met across nearly 3,000 Housing Revenue Account (HRA) residential properties and approximately 500 corporate assets. They will play a key part in keeping staff and buildings safe, ensuring full compliance across a range of service areas including:
* Gas servicing and repairs
* Fire safety and risk assessments
* Asbestos management
* Water safety
* General building health and safety
* Lift servicing and repairs
* Mechanical and electrical (M&E) servicing and repairs
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure statutory compliance across all housing and corporate assets
* Lead, develop, and manage compliance teams
* Oversee procurement and management of all M&E service contracts
* Maintain accurate and accessible compliance documentation
* Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures in line with current legislation
* Support budget management and cost-effective service delivery
* Ensure staff across Property Services understand their compliance responsibilities
* Act as the Council's Responsible or Deputy Responsible Person for Water Safety
* Provide expert advice across the Council on compliance and safety
* Collaborate with senior leaders to inform and support service delivery and capital works planning
* Horizon scan to identify future compliance and asset management needs
