Autism Support Teaching Assistant – Sunderland
Full-Time | September Start | Specialist SEND Setting
We’re on the lookout for a compassionate, committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism setting in Sunderland this September.
This school supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated communication and learning needsproviding a structured, understanding environment where every pupil can succeed.
If you’ve got a calm approach, a genuine interest in supporting neurodivergent pupils, and the patience to help build confidence and communication, this could be the perfect fit.
Your role will include:
* Providing consistent support to pupils with Autism and related needs
* Assisting with communication strategies, behaviour support, and structured routines
* Helping pupils access learning and develop key life skills
* Working closely with specialist teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with Autism, SEND, or in a care/support role
* Brings a patient, understanding approach to every situation
* Is flexible, resilient, and positive in a team environment
* Can commit to a full-time role from September

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
