Locum Consultant Allergist
We are looking for a part‑time Locum Consultant to join the Department of Allergy at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role covers 0.5 WTE for 6 months and has been created to meet the rapidly increasing demand for clinical services in Adult Allergy.

Responsibilities
* Provide out‑patient clinic services for adult allergy patients from primary and secondary care referrals.
* Support the department’s effort to gain accreditation for the Adult Allergy service.
* Assist with administrative duties within the department and Trust, and cover other consultant staff on annual and study leave.
* Participate in research and development projects and supervise junior staff projects.
* Engage in medical audit, continuing professional development (CPD) and maintain an adequate CPD portfolio.
* Contribute to immunotherapy and challenge clinics, including subcutaneous immunotherapy and food challenge services.
Qualifications
* Registered on the specialist register (Allergy) of the GMC or eligible to be registered within six months of appointment.
* Completed the PMETB‑approved JRCPTB curriculum in Allergy or have demonstrated equivalence in knowledge, training and experience of Allergy.
* Hold the MRCP (UK) or provide evidence of equivalent training and experience.
Service Overview
The department provides a Tier 3 allergy regional service to the Lancashire and South Cumbria zone. Approximately 1,600 new allergy patients are seen annually, with services including diagnosis and management of hay fever, perennial rhinitis, urticaria, anaphylaxis, food allergy, drug allergy, venom allergy, latex allergy, mastocytosis, and more. Skin tests, specific IgE tests, immunotherapy, and Omalizumab injection clinics are available.
