PVG Membership
Roles requiring PVG membership require candidates to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies to roles with a full‑time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay the PVG membership cost initially, which will be deducted from the first full month’s salary.
Minimum Requirements
* BA Social Work qualification or equivalent (DipSW, CQSW)
* SSSC Registration
* PVG
* A full current UK driving licence is desirable.

* The ability to assess and balance risk and protective factors within a child protection framework.
* The ability to assess needs, formulate, analyse complex and sensitive information to inform planning for children, decision making, and implementation of effective social work interventions.
* The ability to prioritise tasks, manage own workload and be accountable for quality case work with children and families to achieve positive outcomes.
* The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and build rapport with a range of individuals including children and families and other professionals.
* The ability to negotiate effectively to reach a resolution and successfully implement change.
* The ability to deal with complex issues in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
* The ability to use information management systems to maintain accurate management information and high‑quality data.
* The ability to write to a high quality and present concise reports about complex information as required to internal, external audiences including presenting in Court.
* Ability to use research findings and statutory guidance to inform social work practice.
