The ideal background and skills required are based around the following engineering design hard skills coupled with the soft skills of design innovation, team working and proactive mindset. Engineering degree, HND or Level 4 Engineering Apprenticeship Design engineering 3D CAD drawing skills; creating & updating electromechanical engineering 3D CAD models and technical drawings. Solidworks ideally, but any engineering 3D CAD package is fine. Eye for detail and ability to complete designs & documentation on time as part of a team project.
