Job Purpose To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching to secondary students, inspiring them to achieve their full potential, while contributing to the development and success of the Mathematics Department and the wider school community. Key Responsibilities * Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if required). * Assess, monitor and report on students’ progress in line with school policies and statutory requirements. * Create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and high achievement. * Implement the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently to maintain high standards of discipline and student welfare. * Use data effectively to identify underachievement, set targets and support student progress. * Contribute to the development of schemes of learning, resources and departmental initiatives. * Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, CPD sessions and whole-school training. * Engage with parents/carers to support student learning and progress. * Participate in school events, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities where appropriate. Person Specification Essential: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). * Degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject. * Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level. * Good knowledge of current curriculum requirements and examination specifications. * Strong classroom management skills and ability to motivate students of all abilities. * Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students. Desirable: * Experience teaching A-level Mathematics or Further Mathematics. * Willingness to contribute to extracurricular maths activities, clubs or competitions. * Experience in developing new schemes of learning or leading departmental initiatives. Working Hours Full-time (term-time), with additional time as reasonably required for meetings, training and school events
