Overview
Main Purpose of the job: To be the focal point of the surgery and to act as a liaison between patients, clinicians and other members of the practice team, and to provide a high standard of customer services at all times.
* Ensure the smooth running of the reception and prioritise workload as appropriate.
* Answer telephone enquiries in a prompt, efficient and helpful manner.
* Liaise with hospitals and other outside agencies regarding appointments, missing hospital correspondence and test results.
* Deal with enquiries from patients professionally and sympathetically.
* Request prescriptions and complete administrative tasks.
* Deal with referrals and clinical letters.
* Provide additional administrative support to the practice as required.
